Sex Wish – 70s parody of Death Wish

Charles Bronson’s Death Wish came out in 1974. Two years later, porn director/star Zebedy Colt made the sorta porn parody Sex Wish. The theatrical poster (porn was shown in theaters back then! and they made real posters!) looked downright romantic.

In reality, Sex Wish was a prime example of the 70s porn subgenre of sadistic, rapey “roughies” or “sickies”. They don’t make em like that anymore, and that’s a good thing. The Alpha Blue Archives DVD cover captures the movie’s spirit better:

Blurb from the Alpha Blue Archives DVD listing: “Zebedy Colt gives his most psychotic performance ever. Clad in bowler hat, black suit and sword cane, and carrying a briefcase filled with sadist implements, Zebedy plays a lunatic driven to home invasion, rough sex and murder. Barging in on and torturing women aren’t enough. Zebedy also forces his way into a black couple’s apartment, makes them do a live show at gunpoint, murders them, and castrates the man. Sex Wish is as sadistic and downbeat as XXX has ever been!” Also starring C.J. Laing and the late, great Harry Reems.

None of our affiliated online DVD stories or VoD theaters carry Sex Wish, likely because the violent, nonconsensual material is taboo in the mainstream porn biz nowadays. However, you can buy the DVD direct from the history-minded Alpha Blue Archives, or, and this is a kicker, you can buy it at Amazon.com (where it’s mistitled “Sex Wishes”).
