In 1989, when the first Tim Burton Batman was in theaters, the great Joe Sarno (under one of his many pseudonyms) knocked out the porn parody Erotic Adventures Of Bedman And Throbbin. It’s never been available on DVD or VoD … until now.

Gourmet Video has resurrected another long unavailable classic porn parody, the 1988 daytime soap opera spoof Days of Our Wives.

Alpha Blue Archives has released two science fiction-themed triple feature DVDs featuring previously unavailable porn parodies from the 1970s & 1980s.

First up, the Wet Science Triple Feature.

This DVD contains Wet Science starring Erica Boyer; Bionic Babes starring Kristara Barrington; and Backside To The Future starring Erica Boyer and Tami White. All originally released in 1986, all unavailable on DVD or VoD until now. The first and third titles are parodies of Weird Science and Back to the Future, both of which came out in 1985.

Next up, the Space Virgins Triple Feature.

Including Space Virgins (1984) starring Gina Carrera, Amber Lynn and Sharon Mitchell; Starship Intercourse (1987) starring Gail Force and Samantha Strong; and Carnal Encounters Of The Barest Kind (1978) starring Marlene Munroe.

Starship Intercourse sounds like it should be a Star Trek porn parody, but the plot synopsis — “six alien sex offender female prisoners escape and invade Earth!” — sounds more like Alien 3 or Superman II.

The real prize here is Carnal Encounters Of The Barest Kind, from back when porn flicks were made for theaters, back when they mixed sex scenes with goofy twisted humor that was often actually funny. The Alpha Blue blurb describes it as “cheeseball XXX sci-fi flick notable for its claymation aliens, stop motion disembodied alien cock fuck scene and a picknicker getting a fried chicken leg stuffed up her snatch!”

Charles Bronson’s Death Wish came out in 1974. Two years later, porn director/star Zebedy Colt made the sorta porn parody Sex Wish. The theatrical poster (porn was shown in theaters back then! and they made real posters!) looked downright romantic.

In reality, Sex Wish was a prime example of the 70s porn subgenre of sadistic, rapey “roughies” or “sickies”. They don’t make em like that anymore, and that’s a good thing. The Alpha Blue Archives DVD cover captures the movie’s spirit better:

Another groovy bit of 70s nostalgia from Alpha Blue Archives.

The trucker culture and CB radio craze yielded several movies, including Breaker! Breaker! (1977) starring Chuck Norris. The porn biz joined the convoy with Breaker Beauties (also 1977) starring Vanessa del Rio.

Back in 1984, big-boobed pornstar Christy Canyon played the title role in porn parody Dirty Shary. Unlike the original Dirty Harry, she goes undercover — “The daring and violent female detective Dirty Shary infiltrates a bordello and must pretend she’s a prostitute.”

The Dirty Shary tagline was “Go Ahead … Make Her Night!” As any quibbly film geek can tell you, Clint Eastwood’s famous “Go ahead, make my day” line actually appeared in the fourth Dirty Harry film, Sudden Impact. The equivalent famous line in Dirty Harry went, “You’ve gotta ask yourself a question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punk?” Change the context and that could easily become porno dialogue.

IAFD shows a 1986 release called Dirty Harriet starring Barbara Dare, but it’s not available on DVD and VoD. Some tube sites have clips which look like they came from VHS tapes. Some bitt sites claim to have the whole film, if you’re a completist Eastwood and/or Dare fan.

Here’s a blast from the past. Back in 1989, Moonlight Entertainment made a porn parody of Late Night With David Letterman entitled Late Night For Lovers.

Robert Bullock plays fake David Letterman, and Blake Palmer plays fake Paul Shaffer. The female cast includes Tamara Lee (“as seen in Penthouse magazine”), Victoria Paris, Brandy Alexander and Tori Welles.

Did the Late Night set have wood panelling and plants in 1989? Unlikely. And Letterman definitely didn’t have a mustache. If you’re gonna play David Letterman in a porn parody, shave off your damn mustache!

In the 1980s and 1990s, the “Pink Panther” series starring Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau was a popular porn parody target. Could the porno guys think up any dirty wordplay using “pink”, “shot” or “Clouseau”? Let’s see …

The first was Inspector Cliteau in The Pink Panties in 1985. Herschel Savage played the title role with a funny hat and fake moustache. Female stars included Shanna McCullough, Nina Hartley, Lili Marlene and Kimberly Carson.

Next up in 1990 was A Shot in the Mouth, referencing the first Clouseau movie A Shot in the Dark. This time around Randy Spears played the bumbling detective with the outrageous French accent searching for the missing “Pink Pussy” diamond. Female stars included Lauren Brice, Paula Price, Kim Alexis and Raven Richards. They made a sequel the following year (reviewed back in the day on Usenet), which does not circulate nowadays.

Then in 1995 we got A Shot in the Pink with Dave Hardman as “Inspector Clitsoe”, plus Channone, Christi Lake, Kimberly Kummings, Tia Gunn and Crystal Gold.

Hardman, Lake and Cummings returned for the 1996 sequel, which added Davia Ardell, Nina Cherry and Rebecca Lord.

IAFD lists a lost 1995 porno title, Inspector Croissant: The Case Of The Missing Pinky, which sure sounds like another Pink Panther series porn parody but who knows.

For whatever reason, Steve Martin’s recent revival of the Pink Panther franchise did not spawn any new XXX spoofs.

In 2001 Cash Markman directed Shagnet, a porn parody of Dragnet. Set in 1970, Shagnet follows Sgt. Joe Thursday and his partner as they investigate the illegal underground pornography business around Los Angeles.

Shagnet does a pretty good job recreating 1970 fashion and decor, from the squaresville cops to the Bradyesque suburbanites to the hippy-dippy freaks. And some of the dialogue is amusing. At one point Thursday’s captain warns, “If we don’t stop these pornographers now, by 2001 there could be as many as fifty of these films made a year”.

Steve Austin channels Jack Webb as Thursday, with Anthony Crane as his partner. Bridgette Kerkove, Angelica Sin, Mike Horner, Elizabeth X, Evan Stone, Kate Frost, Ron Jeremy and Jewel De’Nyle play assorted porno perps and concerned citizens.

Shagnet on DVD is hard to find these days, but our store lists it as available via special order.

Wedding Crashers seems like an obvious porn parody target, but it hasn’t gotten much attention to date.

The original was released in summer 2005 and made $200 million at the box office. A quickie knockoff called Wedding Thrasshers came out a few months later. It wasn’t much of a parody. In fact it was a re-edited re-issue of the 2004 release 2 Million Dollar A$$ — same six sex scenes, just in different order with a bit of new framing material. Pornographers are a bunch of lazy cheapass fucks sometimes.

Brazzers showed more ambition in their porn parody Wedding Crazzers, released in four installments on three different sites (confusing, I know) in 2009.

I’ve been keeping a mental list of “most inappropriate porn parodies of all time”, which may become a listicle post soon. Can’t Be Roots is on the list. Talibang is on the list. Heaven’s Anal Gateway is at the top of the list.

Another entry for the list: What’s Butt Got To Do With It, a porn parody of the Tina Turner biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It (both released in 1993).

The Hollywood version dealt with Tina Turner’s physical abuse by her husband Ike Turner and how she eventually worked up the courage to leave him. An old rec.arts.movies.erotica review describes the porn parody twist on this scenario:

Diana Knight stars as “Keena Burner”, with Julian St. Jox as her abusive, cheating Ike figure. … Two police officers arrive to investigate complaints against “Ike” just as “Keena” is preparing to leave him. She wants them to just be quiet and let her get away, and says “I’ll do anything” if you just let me get out of here without a scene. Clumsily enough, this cuts straight into her sucking both of their white dicks in the parking lot. “Ike” is watching and not apparently happy but they keep flashing their badges up at him so he just continues to watch from his balcony.

Holy fuck.

The devoted preservationists at Alpha Blue Archives have restored and reissued another pair of classic porn parodies. The Angela Baron Triple Feature includes both RoboFox (1987) and RoboFox Part II (1988), which riffed on the 1987 Paul Verhoeven joint RoboCop.

In RoboFox, an ordinary girl is transformed into “the perfect sex robot created for ultimate pleasures”, played by Hustler centerfold Angela Baron. Also starring Erica Boyer, Tom Byron, Billy Dee, Krista Lane and Lisa Bright (aka Alicia Monet). Directed by Paul Thomas.

In the future imagined by RoboFox, the field of sex robotics has evolved to the point that sex robots are indistinguishable from real live pornstars. But you can tell they’re robots from the awesome silver lamé thigh-high boots they wear.

In RoboFox, Part II, the “ultimate sexbot returns” and gets her “revenge”, for what we’re not quite sure. Also starring Siobhan Hunter, Jamie Gillis, Randy West, Stephanie Rage and Ona Z (aka Joanna Collins).

Here’s another good look at the fine costume and makeup work in RoboFox. I love the 1980s.

There’s a Hollywood remake of RoboCop starring Joel Kinneman in the works for 2014, so someone will probably make another porn parody then.
